@ian_wardell @Philip_Goff But for much of behavior having an organized percept, and hence conscious vision, is pretty useful. For other types of sensorimotor reflexes it's not necessary. Which is the central idea behind recurrent processing theory. See htt

@attninaction Second, it can be tested how 'complete' these inattended representations are. If it turns out they are qualitatively the same as the attended ones, the burden of proof then is on the gatekeepers to argue why they should not be conscious. See
