After our preprint posted there was a new paper on H3N2 CIV #influenza samples in China (2018-20). Identified an isolate with an HA1-V223I mutation (one we flagged in some 2023 US lineages). Appears to stabilize HA, but reduce alpha-2,6 receptor binding.
